Can I use Microsoft SCCM or Intune for OT asset management?

SCCM and Intune are IT management tools designed for domain-joined Windows devices running standard enterprise software. They do not understand OT-specific data (DCS controller firmware, PLC configuration, vendor patch approval lists, OT protocol communication). They cannot distinguish between an IT workstation and a DCS engineering workstation, and applying standard IT policies to OT systems can cause instability.
